As the Production Supervisor, you will provide daily supervision of personnel and operations to ensure   achievement of departmental goals and levels. You will independently handle routine personnel-related issues; assist in the handling of complex personnel-related issues.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   • Provide direct daily supervision and review work of assigned departmental employees to ensure accuracy and to ensure adherence to pertinent departmental policies, practices, SOPs, safety procedures and biosafety protocols. Ensure proper record-keeping and report preparation.   • Review safety issues and Workers’ Compensation claims.   • Actively interact with and provide technical assistance to customers as required to resolve customer requests, inquiries, and complaints.   • Review customer complaints and participate in the development and implementation of any resulting procedural changes. Create and maintain complaint chart.   • Audit production rooms and/or isolators.   • Review and ensure appropriate inventory levels of departmental supplies.   • Interview and select qualified non-exempt personnel. Recommend personnel actions, including hiring, promotions and raises. Partner with Human Resources and departmental management to assist in the handling of disciplinary issues. Draft appropriate personnel action paperwork.   • Identify training and development needs of direct reports. Assist in the development, implementation and delivery of departmental training programs; ensure that direct reports receive departmental orientation and necessary on-the-job training. Oversee maintenance of group training manual and training records.   • Monitor performance of direct reports. Provide regular coaching and counseling. Assist in preparation and delivery of salary and performance reviews of direct reports.   • Schedule overtime as authorized. Review and approve timecards. Coordinate vacation/time off schedules.   • Recommend short-range operating objectives, organizational structure of direct reports and staffing requirements. Assist in the development of a departmental plan for backup and succession of key technical personnel.   • May assist in development of departmental budget.   • Ensure optimum performance of group function. Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.   • Assist in the development, maintenance and communication of departmental systems and SOPs. Assist in the development and communication of job descriptions for subordinate positions.       • Ensure that departmental equipment is maintained in good working condition and that departmental area(s) are maintained in a clean and orderly condition. This position requires mechanical aptitude, accurate measuring, and utilization of hand and power tools efficiently while operating the atomizing unit. This includes preparation of the melt chamber equipment, charging furnace, monitoring heat chemistries, and preparation of liquid pour for atomizing. In this position, you will play a valuable role in manufacturing alloys, ensuring our products and materials meet customer expectations. As a Production Worker, you will perform powder processing procedures including: can preparation, rosheen work, screening powder, blending powder, loading containers, operating outgas and vacuum systems, as well as other tasks.  A successful candidate should demonstrate an eagerness to learn, showing initiative, commitment to teamwork, and attention to detail.   Additional Responsibilities Tape test cleaned equipment, containers, and clean rooms Screen powder to the required size Provide quality control, process engineering, and customer samples Transfer, blend, subdivide, store powder, and perform magnetic separation of powder Purge all containers and evaluate purges for load approval. Load containers with powder and condition for outgas HIP or shipment Load and operate outgas furnace(s) and vacuum systems. Crimp outgassed parts and condition as required Cut/mark stems, remove fixturing, and process paperwork for HIP parts Prepare parts for stem welding & grind stems after weld; Leak-check welded containers Maintain proper concentration of rosheen solutions; Degrease, grind, debur and clean parts and fixtures Remove/install clean room filters, loaders, and screeners. Drives a Continuous Improvement (CI) environment by improving products, services, and processes with the objective to reduce waste, while striving for efficiency.
