The Field Facilities Coordinator performs a variety of duties which involve cleaning and maintaining the District’s field facilities and grounds to ensure a well-kept appearance and safe operations. This position consists primarily of fieldwork with some redundancy related to office campus support as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIIBILITIES
Inspects field facility buildings, grounds, and other units as assigned (such as backflow meters, etc.) to determine needed repairs, preventative maintenance plans and make other recommendations relating to assets owned by the District. Work with Administrative Assistant and Projects Manager to execute contracts and associated tasks.
Repairs and maintains field operated buildings, grounds, and equipment and determines needed repairs and recommendations.
Performs facilities maintenance duties to include, but not limited to replacing lights, cleaning air vents, repairing leaks in drains and faucets, minor painting, etc.
Performs maintenance of facilities grounds to include, but not limited to removing and installing signs, pest control, removing debris, removing snow and ice on walkways, applying, and removing ice-melt, and maintaining landscaping.
Maintains and performs minor repairs of well-house HVAC systems including replacing heaters, filters, and routine maintenance of A/C units where appropriate.
Oversees District landscaping maintenance plan, as well as Backflow certification testing for District owned backflows.
Secures contractors and schedule work; oversee, inspect, and establish standards of performance for contractors, seasonal staff, ongoing maintenance, and project work.
Operates the District vehicle and travels to various District buildings and facilities to perform work.
Develops preventative maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure effective and reliable operation of District HVAC, alarm, and other systems. Perform preventative maintenance to infrastructure and equipment, including under adverse conditions. Initiates measures to reduce unplanned breakdowns and emergencies.
Processes work orders for equipment repair and maintenance using asset management system (Elements).
Ensures safe performance of job duties by following proper safety procedures, taking all necessary safety precautions, anticipating unsafe working conditions, acting accordingly to prevent accidents, and promptly reporting accidents and hazardous conditions. Participates in and conducts appropriate safety training.
Attends meetings and interacts with contractors, citizens, outside agencies, and other departments, concerning projects, complaints, procedures, standards, and specifications.
Schedules and coordinate facilities work with various departments to ensure coordination of workflow and customer access.
Maintains company equipment, the inventory of tools, and facilities supplies, etc.
Serves as back-up for facilities for the District office and Northern facilities as needed.
Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and provides input and feedback on department policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Maintains regular and predictable attendance as scheduled, and perform job duties with varying schedules, including holidays and weekends and overtime as needed.
Responds to on-call issues and emergencies as assigned.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, FORMAL TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED.
3 + years' custodial experience and commercial building and/or facilities/building maintenance experience.
Previous HVAC experience and certifications or trade licenses in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related desired.
Must possess a valid driver's license and pass a background check.
