Job Description

Our Credit Managers partner with the Profit Center Managers to mitigate risk, negotiate terms, and extend lines of credit that allow for successful business growth with our customers.  They are skilled in managing and negotiating sound financial strategies, through building customer relationships, that result in win-win opportunities. These activities define our Credit Managers as leaders within our organization.

The candidate will work alongside an experienced Credit Manager to learn all aspects of financial management in the electrical wholesale industry. The duration of the training program is 2-3 years. The defined training program prepares the candidate to effectively administer CED’s credit policy through proficiency in financial review, problem solving, construction lien laws, and negotiations.

Description: Finance/Credit Analyst Intern

CED hires a small number of new interns each year: self-motivated, adaptable, problem solvers. We invest a lot into each of them. Our competitive intern program teaches top candidates the fundamentals of risk assessment, business operations, and financial analysis.  The candidate will work alongside an experienced Credit Team to learn all aspects of financial management in the electrical wholesale industry.

 

  • The internship runs for 15 weeks, offering flexible hours between 15-30 hours per week
  • Opportunities to extend the internship or become a full-time hire upon graduation.
  • Pay rate - $15 per hour
  • Discuss with your academic advisor if this internship can qualify for university credit

 

Candidates will be given a project to complete during their time in the credit office.  Past project examples include: market analysis for risk in the solar energy space, develop a training manual for office procedures, and SWOT analysis for water treatment plants.

Description: Finance/Credit Analyst

 

A Credit Analyst assists in protecting the financial assets of the company within the CED Credit Offices. The desired candidate will use discretion and independent judgment to investigate credit granting, manage a portfolio of receivable accounts, and review and execute legal documents on the behalf of CED. The ideal candidate requires self-motivation, must prioritize effectively, and work successfully with minimal supervision.

 

All CED Credit Analysts are cross-trained and must:

  • Be able to manage a large accounts receivable portfolio which includes negotiating, financial review, and creating plans of actions with customers and the Credit Manager.
  • Recommend best method of collection on delinquent accounts in collaboration with the Division Credit Manager and PC Manager.
  • Ability to review credit applications for credit granting, and establishing six figure credit limits.
  • Escalate collection activities as required by business circumstances.
  • Assist the Division Credit Manager to maintain and enforce CED’s lien and bond rights for secured projects.
  • Using experience and customer knowledge to determine the proper time to place accounts on credit hold in collaboration with the Division Credit Manager and PC Manager.
  • Face to face customer meetings to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers and PC Managers.
  • Negotiate disputes with customers and make arrangements for payment resolution.
  • Present payment, status, plan, reports, and information to management for quarterly credit meetings.
  • Maintain professional relationships with Managers and external customers.
