Howard University School of Divinity Bio
In 1870, the Howard University School of Divinity (HUSD) was established as one of the schools and colleges of Howard University, and one of six Historically Black Theological Institutions (HBTI). In addition, the Howard University School of Divinity is a part of an R1 level research institution. The school became fully accredited in 1940 by the Association of Theological Schools under the leadership of Dean Benjamin Elijah Mays and is currently under the leadership of Dean Rev. Kenyatta Gilbert Ph.D. HUSD is located in Washington D.C., the nation's capital. Washington D.C. is rich in cultural, scientific, educational, and business resources.
