3G Vessel Fitter

May layout and mark weld points o parts or subassemblies using rule, square, or templates

Positions pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and

hand tools

Reads blueprints and performs own fit-ups

Works with different types and sizes of structural materials

Operates cutting equipment

Safety operates iron worker, overhead cranes, rigging, pipe, threading machine, welding machine, tube bending

machine, and various pneumatic hand tools

Ability to fit weld pipe or butt weld pipe

Promotes and supports safety, production and positive attitude

Required Test:

Must be able to pass a 3G vessel test

Must be able to pass a written fitters exam

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent or equal combination of education and experience

Must have one (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; welding school or on the job training

Knowledge of different types and sizes of vessel material

Physical Strain:

Lifting up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 30 pounds

Bending, squatting, climbing, pulling, stooping, twisting, reaching, working at elevated heights
