Job Description
Ohio Reading Corps Members provide literacy support to below-proficient readers in grades K-3. More than 2,000 students in and around Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton, and Youngstown are provided tutoring each year by our program.
Ohio Math Corps Members provide basic math support to students in grades K-5 who are below-proficient in the subject. Our program serves more than 300 students each year. We currently provide our services in Central Ohio (Columbus) and Youngstown, and we plan to expand into the Cleveland and Cincinnati areas in the near future.
The ESC of Central Ohio receives funding to provide tutoring services to students in our districts. These programs are a part of AmeriCorps and exist to provide one-on-one and small group support to those identified as below-proficient in either literacy or math. The ESC recruits, trains, and places AmeriCorps members to provide tutoring for 20-30 hours each week throughout the school year.
