Zoom Elite Transportation LLC is looking for responsible, dependable Van Drivers to join our team for school transportation routes. As a Van Driver, you will safely transport students to and from school, ensuring a positive and secure experience for all passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a company van, following all traffic laws and safety procedures.
- Transport students to and from school, adhering to the designated route and schedule.
- Ensure students’ safety by assisting with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, helping with seatbelts when necessary.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly attitude when interacting with students, parents, and school staff.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it’s in safe working conditions.
- Communicate effectively with school personnel, parents, and dispatch regarding any delays, route changes, or issues.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle maintenance needs in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Age: 21 years or older.
- Driver’s License: Possess a valid, properly classified Illinois driver’s license or a valid license from Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, or Kentucky, with an “S” endorsement.
- Experience: Must have held a valid driver’s license for at least three years, with no revocations, suspensions, cancellations, or disqualifications.
- Testing:
- Pass the Illinois written school bus driver permit test.

- Pass a behind-the-wheel exam in the type of vehicle you will be driving.

- Pass a physical examination, including drug and tuberculosis testing.

- Background Checks:
- Pass an Illinois-specific and FBI criminal background check.

- Not have been convicted of serious traffic violations, reckless driving, DUI, or reckless homicide within the past three years.

- It did not cause a fatal accident because of unlawful vehicle operation.

- Other Requirements:
- Affirm under penalty of perjury that no false statements or material concealment have been made in the application process.

- Complete an initial classroom training course, with a refresher course required for renewal.

- Consent to release of drug and alcohol testing results to the Secretary of State.

- Not have been afflicted with any mental disabilities or diseases in the last five years.
