Job Description

Meyer Distributing is looking for a Network Administrator to join a new office in Indianapolis, IN. We are hiring immediately! Meyer Distributing is a leader in automotive specialty products marketing and warehouse distributing. We are seeking an experienced Network Specialist / IT Support professional to maintain and support our on-prem infrastructure. This role is hands-on and includes network administration, end-user support, hardware troubleshooting, and VMware-based virtualization support.

Requirements for Network Administrators:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, network administration, or infrastructure roles.
  • Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing/switching concepts, DNS, DHCP).
  • Hands-on VMware administration experience.
  • Comfort working in on-prem enterprise environments with physical hardware responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to support both technical and non-technical users

Network Administrator duties include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot hardware, workstation, and peripheral issues; provide responsive end-user support.
  • Administer and monitor LAN/WAN components (switches, routers, firewalls, access points).
  • Manage core network services including DNS, DHCP, and VLAN configuration.
  • Administer VMware environments (virtual machines, resource allocation, uptime monitoring).
  • Support server infrastructure, patching coordination, and backup operations in partnership with IT leadership.
  • Maintain documentation, asset tracking, and standard operating procedures for recurring IT processes.
  • Participate in incident response, problem management, and root-cause analysis for outages.
